City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class academic support through tutoring, small-group work, and individual assistance. Build positive relationships with students to promote social-emotional growth and engagement. Support classroom teachers with lesson implementation, behavior support, and a positive learning environment. Monitor student progress, track data, and participate in regular team and school meetings. Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team to plan and lead school-based activities and events. Engage in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development offered by City Year.
