City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide daily in-class support and small-group or one-on-one tutoring in core subjects Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to promote engagement and attendance Support teachers with classroom activities, behavior management, and learning routines Track student progress and use data to inform academic and social-emotional supports Participate in training, coaching, and reflection to develop leadership and professional skills Engage in school-wide projects, family events, and service days as part of a diverse team Small-group and one-on-one tutoring Classroom support and behavior management Youth mentorship and relationship building Lesson and activity facilitation Data tracking and progress monitoring Basic MS Office/Google Workspace Time management and reliability Professional communication (written and verbal) Collaboration and teamwork Conflict resolution and de-escalation Medical Insurance AmeriCorps eligibility (U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident) Background check clearance High school diploma or equivalent required by AmeriCorps Some college or prior youth mentoring/tutoring experience preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
