City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support and small-group tutoring in core subjects to help students stay on track. Build positive relationships with students through daily mentoring and coaching. Collaborate with teachers to reinforce lessons and track student progress. Support a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment. Assist with after-school programs, enrichment activities, and school events. Use data and teacher feedback to adjust support for individual students. Participate in ongoing training, reflection, and leadership development. Model professionalism, empathy, and a strong commitment to service.
