Tulsa Bone and Joint Associates is seeking a Full-time Orthopedic Service Line Physician Assistant to work in a hospital setting, assisting multiple orthopedic surgeons.
Essential Functions
Assist in the operating room, assess patients, write orders, conduct rounds, educate and teach, perform consultations, and manage discharge processes for orthopedic patients.
Collaborate closely with hospitalists and hospital staff to maintain orthopedic clinical pathways and protocols.
Identify educational needs among hospital staff and assist in their development, training, and in-service sessions. Help develop protocols to improve efficiency throughout the hospital and possess a solid understanding of CPOE (Computerized Physician Order Entry).
Assist with chart audits and clinical documentation.
Serve as a point of contact for follow-up on general patient care concerns (both during and after discharge), address staff concerns related to processes, and review workflows to recommend best practice standards.
Assist in surgery and work within the hospital setting and Urgent Care.
Schedule
Monday - Friday: 6:45 AM - 5:00 PM (times may vary)
Call/rounding up to one weekend per month
Orthopedic Urgent Care coverage is required
Coverage for other hospital health systems may be necessary to support the service line, in addition to Orthopedic Urgent Care coverage
Requirements
Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies (PA)
Current and unrestricted PA license in Oklahoma
Experience in an Urgent Care setting or in Orthopedics is preferred but not required
Interest or experience in Orthopedic Surgery is preferred but not required
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
