Location: Onsite in South Portland Employment Type: Contract to Hire Pay Rate: $27.00 - $31.25 per hour DOE Schedule: Monday-Friday, Full-Time
Position Overview
LHH Recruitment is seeking ahands-on HR Generalist to support day-to-day human resources operations for a growing organization in South Portland. This is an onsite, contract-to-hire opportunity ideal for an HR professional who enjoys being a trusted resource to employees and leaders across the business. Bilingual Spanish skills are a huge plus and will be used regularly to support a diverse workforce.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions related to HR policies, benefits, and procedures
  • Support full-cycle recruiting activities, including job postings, screening, interviewing, onboarding, and new hire orientation
  • Assist with employee relations matters, including coaching, documentation, and issue resolution
  • Administer benefits enrollment, changes, and employee education; support open enrollment as needed
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with state and federal employment regulations
  • Support performance management processes, including reviews and corrective actions
  • Assist with training coordination, employee development initiatives, and HR projects
  • Utilize HRIS systems to manage employee data, reporting, and documentation
  • Partner closely with leadership to support a positive, compliant, and inclusive workplace culture
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar human resources role
  • Working knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and employee relations
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting onsite workforces is a plus
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities
Pay Details: $27.00 to $31.25 per hour
