City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide daily in-class support to teachers and students in core academic subjects Tutor students one-on-one and in small groups to reinforce learning goals Support students’ social-emotional development and positive behavior Monitor attendance and engage students to improve school participation Assist with planning and leading after-school or enrichment programs Build relationships with students, teachers, and school staff to support student success Communicate with families and caregivers as appropriate in coordination with school staff Collect and track student data to monitor progress and inform support strategies Participate in City Year and school trainings, meetings, and professional development Model City Year values and contribute to an inclusive, collaborative team culture Tutoring in math and reading Classroom support and management Youth mentoring Behavior management strategies Data entry and progress monitoring Basic computer skills (Google Workspace or Microsoft Office) Communication and interpersonal skills Time management and organization Cultural competency and working with diverse communities Facilitation of small groups and activities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (citizenship or permanent resident) Background check clearance Commitment to full-time service term Experience working with youth (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
