City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to teachers and students during English, math, and other core classes Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring to support academic skill-building Mentor students to build social-emotional skills, attendance, and engagement Collaborate with teachers and school staff to identify and support student needs Lead or co-lead after-school and enrichment programs Track and document student progress and participation using established tools Participate in regular training, coaching, and professional development Engage in school-wide events and community service projects Communicate regularly with team leaders and City Year staff about progress and challenges Model City Year’s values and contribute to an inclusive, collaborative team culture Classroom support Tutoring and academic intervention Youth mentoring Behavior management Data tracking and documentation Communication (verbal and written) Collaboration and teamwork Basic technology skills (e.g., Google Suite, email, spreadsheets) Time management and organization Cultural competency and relationship-building Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (citizenship or permanent resident status) Ability to pass background checks required by AmeriCorps and school district Commitment to full-time service for the entire service term Experience working with youth (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
