City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support alongside teachers to reinforce instruction Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects Mentor students to build social-emotional skills and resilience Support attendance and behavior initiatives to improve student engagement Assist with planning and leading after-school and enrichment programs Collaborate with a diverse team to set and track student goals Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions Communicate regularly with teachers and school staff about student needs Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and reflection sessions Engage families and community partners in school-based events and projects Classroom support Tutoring in core subjects (math, ELA) Youth mentoring Behavior management support Data entry and progress tracking Basic computer skills (Google Suite/Microsoft Office) Communication and interpersonal skills Team collaboration Time management and organization Cultural competency and DEI awareness Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member US citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident Ability to pass background checks required for school service Willingness to commit to full-time service term5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
