KJ’s Market is seeking a part-time Bluebird Kitchen Cook to prepare fresh, high-quality meals for our in-store food service program. In this role, you will follow recipes, prep ingredients, cook menu items to standard, and ensure proper presentation for customers. You’ll maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen that meets food safety and sanitation guidelines. The cook works closely with store teammates, supports rotating tasks like stocking and labeling, and provides friendly, efficient service in a fast-paced, community-focused grocery environment. Prepare, cook, and assemble menu items to KJ’s Market and Bluebird Kitchen standards Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and cooking procedures consistently Prep ingredients, label and rotate food using FIFO practices Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and work area Follow all food safety, sanitation, and temperature control standards Operate kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance needs Assist with stocking, merchandising, and product setup for food service displays Communicate with team members and supervisors to support smooth operations Provide friendly, efficient service to customers at the food service counter Follow store policies and support a positive, team-focused culture Food preparation Short order or line cooking Recipe and portion control Food safety and sanitation Kitchen equipment operation Knife skills Time management in fast-paced environment Basic merchandising and labeling Customer service Teamwork and communication Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Food handler or food safety certification preferred (e.g., ServSafe) Knowledge of basic kitchen safety and sanitation standards5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
