City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support, tutoring, and small-group instruction in core subjects Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to support social-emotional growth Monitor and track student attendance, behavior, and academic progress Collaborate with teachers and school staff to plan and implement student supports Lead or support after-school programs and enrichment activities Assist with school-wide events, initiatives, and family engagement activities Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Maintain accurate documentation and reports on student interventions and outcomes Model leadership, inclusivity, and civic engagement within the school community Work effectively as part of a diverse AmeriCorps team to meet service goals Tutoring and academic support (literacy and/or math) Classroom support and management Youth mentoring and relationship-building Data entry and basic progress monitoring Communication (verbal and written) Collaboration and teamwork in diverse groups Basic technology skills (email, spreadsheets, virtual platforms) Time management and organization Conflict resolution and de-escalation basics Cultural competency and working with diverse communities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility for AmeriCorps service (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background and reference checks Commitment to a full-time, 10–12 month service term Experience working or volunteering with youth (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
