City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to teachers through classroom assistance and student engagement Deliver small group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects to support academic achievement Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to support social-emotional development Support attendance, behavior, and engagement initiatives in partnership with school staff Help plan and lead after-school programs, homework help, and enrichment activities Collect and track student data to inform support strategies and document progress Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team and school partners to meet service goals Participate in regular training, coaching, and professional development sessions Engage families and community partners to support student success when appropriate Uphold City Year’s values around inclusion, equity, and social justice in daily service Classroom support Tutoring in core academic subjects Youth mentoring Behavior management support Data tracking and documentation Basic educational technology proficiency Communication and interpersonal skills Team collaboration Time management and organization Cultural competency and working with diverse populations Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident Must be able to pass background checks required for working in schools Commitment to a full-time AmeriCorps service term Experience working or volunteering with youth (preferred) Bilingual skills (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
