As an Academic Tutor and Mentor with City Year in the Educational Services industry, you’ll support students’ academic and social-emotional growth within public schools. Working in the Education, Training & E-Learning department, you’ll provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring, support classroom instruction, and help lead enrichment and after-school activities. Provide small-group and one-on-one academic tutoring in core subjects Support classroom instruction under the guidance of the classroom teacher Monitor student progress and help track academic and engagement data Build positive, mentoring relationships that support students’ social-emotional growth Assist with planning and leading enrichment and after-school programs Communicate regularly with teachers and school staff about student needs Participate in City Year training, professional development, and team meetings Model positive behavior, attendance, and school engagement for students Tutoring in math Tutoring in reading/writing Lesson and activity planning Classroom support techniques Behavior management basics Data tracking and progress monitoring Youth mentoring Communication with students and educators Cultural responsiveness in education Time management and organization Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Ability to pass background check Eligibility to serve as AmeriCorps member (if applicable) Prior experience working with youth (preferred) Basic training in tutoring or mentoring (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
