Ombudsman Educational Services is seeking an Alternative Education Teacher to support middle and high school students who are at risk, have dropped out, or need a nontraditional learning environment. In this role, you will provide personalized, credit-bearing instruction in a small, structured classroom focused on safety and student success. You will adapt curriculum, manage behavior, and track academic progress, collaborating closely with school districts, families, and support staff. This position offers the opportunity to grow skills in special education, behavior support, and student advocacy while making a meaningful impact on students’ lives. Provide personalized, standards-aligned instruction to middle and high school students in an alternative education setting Develop and adapt lesson plans to support diverse learning needs and credit recovery goals Implement effective classroom and behavior management strategies to maintain a safe, structured environment Monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments and adjust instruction accordingly Collaborate with school districts, families, and support staff to align goals and share progress Support students with IEPs and 504 plans in coordination with special education teams Document attendance, grades, and behavioral data accurately and on time Participate in professional development focused on alternative education, behavior support, and student advocacy Contribute to a positive, mission-driven school culture centered on student success Classroom management Individualized instruction Special education strategies Behavior intervention planning Student assessment IEP implementation support Curriculum adaptation Data-driven instruction Educational technology Family and district communication Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid state teaching license (secondary or K-12) Special Education endorsement preferred Training in behavior management or PBIS preferred CPR/First Aid certification preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
