Ombudsman Educational Services, a ChanceLight Education brand, seeks a Teacher, Alternative Education to support middle and high school students who have dropped out, are at risk, or need a nontraditional learning environment. In this role, you will deliver personalized, standards-based, credit-bearing instruction in small classes, using data to guide interventions and monitor progress. You will implement behavior supports, create a safe and structured classroom, and collaborate closely with school districts, families, and support staff. This mission-driven position is ideal for educators passionate about student advocacy and helping at-risk learners succeed. Provide individualized, standards-aligned instruction to middle and high school students in an alternative setting Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs and IEP goals Use data and assessments to monitor progress and adjust instruction Implement behavior support and classroom management strategies to maintain a safe, structured environment Collaborate with school districts, families, and support staff to align services and goals Document attendance, grades, behavior incidents, and progress reports accurately and on time Participate in IEP/504 meetings and student support conferences as needed Incorporate educational technology and blended learning tools into instruction Support students in credit recovery, graduation planning, and transitions to home schools or postsecondary paths Contribute to a mission-driven, student-centered school culture focused on at-risk learners Classroom management Lesson planning Individualized instruction Special education strategies Behavior management Student assessment Progress monitoring Parent and district communication Educational technology Crisis intervention Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid state teaching license (secondary or K-12) Special Education endorsement preferred CPI or similar crisis intervention training preferred ESL or Reading specialist certification a plus5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
