Summary:
The Education Coordinator - Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health's purpose is to meet the diverse educational and developmental needs of the child/adolescent classroom at Woodridge Hospital and to channel productively the educational needs of these children. To plan and implement the curriculum in accordance with the treatment plan for each child. To assess and record each child's progress and report that progress to the treatment team and appropriate school personnel. To train and direct the efforts of teacher aides. To develop and actively maintain a clean, organized, healthy, and safe classroom environment.
Requirements:
Any combination of training/experience that will allow the teacher to perform the above requirements. Bachelor's degree in Education is required but prefer Certification in Special Education (K-12) and work experience with emotionally disturbed and/or learning disabled children.Must possess a clear, working understanding of Developmentally Appropriate Practice of working with children/adolescents in an educational psychiatric setting. Must possess knowledge and understanding of hospital policies and procedures. Incumbent must be 18 years of age or older.

Must have a current license as a teacher in the appropriate state
