Encompass Health seeks a Hospital Floor Care Specialist to maintain exceptionally clean, safe, and presentable floors throughout our inpatient rehabilitation hospital. In this role, you’ll perform floor stripping, waxing, buffing, mopping, and carpet care in patient rooms, therapy areas, and common spaces to support infection control and a healing environment. You’ll operate and maintain floor care equipment, follow strict safety and infection-prevention protocols, respond to spills and high-risk areas quickly, and collaborate with nursing and environmental services teams to meet hospital cleanliness standards and patient needs. Clean and maintain all hospital floors in patient rooms, hallways, therapy areas, and common spaces Perform floor stripping, waxing, buffing, mopping, and carpet cleaning according to schedules and standards Operate, inspect, and maintain floor care equipment safely and report needed repairs Follow infection control, bloodborne pathogen, and safety protocols to reduce risk of contamination and injury Respond promptly to spills and high-risk floor hazards to support patient and staff safety Handle cleaning chemicals according to label directions and facility policies Collaborate with environmental services and clinical staff to prioritize high-traffic and high-acuity areas Assist with waste and linen handling following hospital and regulatory guidelines Document tasks, schedules, and any safety or maintenance concerns as required Support a patient-centered, mission-driven environment through professional and respectful service Hospital floor cleaning Floor machine operation (auto-scrubbers, buffers) Carpet cleaning and extraction Chemical handling and dilution Infection control practices Biohazard and spill cleanup Equipment inspection and maintenance Safety and OSHA compliance Waste and linen handling Basic recordkeeping/documentation Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k OSHA safety training preferred Bloodborne pathogens/infection control training Floor care or environmental services experience in healthcare preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
