Floor Technician - NRG Park - Facility Services

Are you an experienced Floor Technician who takes pride in maintaining clean, safe, and professional facilities? We are seeking a reliable team member to perform routine and restorative floor care, including stripping, waxing, buffing, burnishing, scrubbing, and carpet cleaning. This hands-on role operates primarily during evening and overnight hours and requires experience using commercial floor care equipment. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, staying active throughout the shift, and maintaining high cleanliness standards. This position is ideal for experienced custodial, janitorial, floor care, environmental services, or facilities maintenance professionals looking for steady work in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:$12.00-$15.00 an hour.

• • Perform routine and restorative floor care, including stripping, waxing, refinishing, buffing, burnishing, scrubbing, and spray cleaning floors.
  • Clean and maintain carpeted areas through extraction, shampooing, spot treatment, and vacuuming.
  • Operate commercial and industrial floor care equipment safely and effectively.
  • Inspect floor surfaces and identify areas requiring maintenance or restoration.
  • Maintain hard surface flooring in accordance with established cleaning and maintenance procedures.
  • Remove trash, recyclables, used supplies, and other waste from assigned areas.
  • Clean and disinfect carts, receptacles, and other equipment as needed.
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, infection control, and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain assigned equipment and report maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Support overall facility cleanliness in healthcare, commercial, institutional, or public-facing environments as assigned.
  Work evening and overnight shifts while maintaining attendance and schedule reliability

• Required

  • Minimum 1 year of floor technician, floor care, custodial, janitorial, environmental services, or related experience.
  • Hands-on experience stripping and waxing floors. This is an essential job requirement.
  • Experience with buffing, burnishing, scrubbing, carpet cleaning, and floor restoration techniques.
  • Ability to work between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
  • Availability to work 7-8 hour shifts and every other weekend.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to safely operate floor care equipment and follow safety procedures.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and lift throughout the shift.

  Preferred

  • Experience working in healthcare, hospitality, higher education, or large commercial facilities.
  • Knowledge of floor maintenance chemicals, cleaning solutions, and preventive floor care programs.
  • Experience operating ride-on or large-area floor care equipment.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
