Encompass Health is seeking a Floor Cleaning Technician to keep our rehabilitation hospital clean, safe, and supportive of patient healing. In this onsite role, you’ll perform routine and deep cleaning of floors, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, and waxing in patient rooms, halls, and common areas. You’ll operate floor machines safely, follow infection control and OSHA standards, and respond promptly to spills and biohazards. Working closely with nursing and environmental services teams, you help maintain a sanitary, welcoming environment that reflects our mission-driven, patient-centered culture. Perform daily floor care including sweeping, mopping, and spot cleaning in patient rooms, corridors, and common areas Operate floor care equipment such as auto scrubbers, buffers, and burnishers safely and effectively Complete scheduled deep cleaning including stripping, waxing, and refinishing floors Follow infection control and environmental services protocols to support a sanitary healthcare environment Respond promptly to spills, biohazards, and safety hazards to prevent slips and falls Use cleaning chemicals and supplies according to label directions and safety standards Inspect floors and equipment, reporting needed repairs or safety concerns to supervisors Work collaboratively with environmental services, nursing, and other hospital staff to prioritize cleaning needs Maintain accurate cleaning logs and follow assigned routes and schedules Support Encompass Health’s mission and patient-centered culture through professional, courteous service Floor stripping and waxing Operating auto scrubbers and buffers Use of cleaning chemicals and equipment Infection control and sanitation Biohazard and spill cleanup Safety and OSHA compliance Detail cleaning and inspection Time management Basic equipment maintenance Reading and following cleaning schedules Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k OSHA safety training preferred Healthcare environmental services experience preferred Knowledge of infection control standards Bloodborne pathogen training preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
