City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide daily in-class and after-school academic support to students Build positive relationships and mentor students to support social-emotional growth Collaborate with teachers and school staff to reinforce classroom instruction Track and report student progress using provided tools and data systems Participate in training, coaching, and professional development sessions Support school-wide events and community service activities Model positive behavior and a commitment to social justice and equity Communicate regularly with team members and supervisors about student needs Assist with attendance initiatives and other student engagement efforts Uphold City Year’s values, policies, and AmeriCorps service requirements Student mentoring Classroom support Tutoring in math and English Behavior management Data tracking and reporting Community outreach Collaboration with educators Time management Basic computer skills Professional communication Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (including background checks) Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident Ability to commit to full-time service for the program term Experience with youth or in school/community settings preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
