City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support through tutoring, mentoring, and small-group instruction Build positive relationships with students to support social-emotional development Track and report on student progress using established tools and guidelines Assist lead teachers with classroom activities and learning interventions Support implementation of school-wide initiatives and positive school climate efforts Facilitate or support after-school and enrichment programs Collaborate closely with a diverse AmeriCorps team and school staff Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and leadership development sessions Engage families and community partners as appropriate to support student success Uphold City Year, AmeriCorps, and school policies, including professionalism and attendance requirements Tutoring and academic support (reading and math) Classroom support and student supervision Behavior management and positive youth development Basic data entry and progress monitoring Communication with students, teachers, and families Cultural competency and working with diverse communities Time management and reliability in a structured schedule Facilitation of small groups and activities Basic computer literacy (email, documents, spreadsheets) Collaboration and teamwork in a service environment Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background checks required for school-based service Commitment to a full-time 10–12 month AmeriCorps service term5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
