City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class academic and behavior support to students Lead small-group and one-on-one tutoring sessions Track and report student progress and attendance data Support classroom routines and positive learning environments Collaborate with teachers and school staff on student needs Lead or assist with after-school and enrichment programs Build positive, mentoring relationships with students Engage families and community partners as needed Participate in City Year training, coaching, and reflection Model City Year’s values of service, equity, and inclusion Student support strategies Tutoring in math and ELA Classroom management Behavioral intervention techniques Data entry and progress tracking Small-group facilitation Mentoring and coaching youth Community outreach Basic conflict resolution Professional communication Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (including citizenship or permanent resident status) Ability to pass required background checks Commitment to a full-time AmeriCorps service term Experience with youth, tutoring, or mentoring is strongly preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
