City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Provide daily academic tutoring in core subjects to K-12 students Mentor students to build confidence, social-emotional skills, and positive habits Support teachers with classroom activities, small-group instruction, and behavior management Monitor and track student progress using school and City Year tools Communicate with school staff and teammates to coordinate student support Participate in training, coaching, and professional development sessions Engage in school events and family outreach activities as needed Academic tutoring Lesson planning Classroom support Student mentoring Behavior management Progress monitoring Data entry/reporting Basic educational technology Collaboration with teachers Communication with families Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required Experience working or volunteering with youth (tutoring, mentoring, camp, after-school) preferred Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps per federal requirements Ability to commit to a full-time, school-year service term5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
