City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide one-on-one and small group academic tutoring in core subjects Support students’ social-emotional learning and engagement in school Assist teachers with classroom activities and behavior management Help plan and lead after-school programs and enrichment activities Support school-wide events that promote a positive school climate Track student progress and document interventions and outcomes Collaborate with teammates, teachers, and school staff on student support plans Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Engage families and community partners to support student success Model leadership, inclusivity, and a commitment to social justice Tutoring and academic support in reading and math Classroom support and behavior management Youth mentoring and relationship building Basic data tracking and documentation Lesson and activity planning support Communication with students, teachers, and families Team collaboration and problem-solving Time management in a school environment Cultural competence and working with diverse communities Basic computer and educational technology skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background checks required for working in schools Completion of City Year pre-service and on-site training Commitment to full-time service for the program term5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
