To assist in clerical duties and instructional responsibilities working under the direction of the Inclusion Teacher.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification:
High School Diploma/GED
Texas Educational Aide Certificate
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Ability to work with children with disabilities
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to communicate effectively
EXPERIENCE:
None prior experience working with children with learning disabilities preferred.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Assist classroom teachers in preparation of classroom teaching materials and bulletin boards.
Operate standard office machines.
Set up and operate audio-visual equipment and computers.
Assist with the instructional program under the direct supervision of a certified teacher.
Work with an individual student and/or a small group of students
reinforcing academic, behavioral, or development skills.
Perform routine clerical tasks, data collection, and grading under the direction and supervision of a certified teacher.
Assist assessment team by administering achievement and/or development tests.
Help manage the behavior of assigned students.
Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of assigned students.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Other School Health and Related Services (SHARS) duties as assigned
