Encompass Health seeks a Floor Refinishing Technician to maintain safe, attractive flooring throughout our rehabilitation hospital. In this role, you will strip, refinish, buff, and maintain hard floors in patient rooms, corridors, and clinical areas using commercial equipment and approved chemicals. You’ll follow infection control and safety protocols, minimize disruption to patient care, and coordinate schedules with nursing and facilities teams. The position supports a clean, healing environment while offering stable hours, training, and growth in a mission-driven, patient-centered organization. Strip, refinish, and burnish hard surface floors in patient rooms, corridors, and common areas Operate and maintain floor care equipment such as buffers, burnishers, and auto-scrubbers Follow infection control, safety, and chemical handling protocols in a healthcare environment Schedule work to minimize disruption to patient care and coordinate with nursing and facilities teams Inspect floors regularly, reporting damage or safety hazards to leadership Maintain clean, organized storage areas for chemicals, supplies, and equipment Document work performed and adhere to hospital and departmental policies Support a patient-centered, mission-driven environment through professional conduct Floor refinishing Auto-scrubbers and buffers Strip and wax procedures Slip and fall prevention Infection control practices Chemical handling and mixing Equipment maintenance Safety and OSHA compliance Reading MSDS/SDS sheets Time management Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k OSHA safety training preferred Certification in floor care or custodial maintenance preferred Knowledge of hospital infection control standards5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
