Encompass Health, a national leader in inpatient rehabilitation, is seeking a Floor Care Technician in Lubbock, TX. In this role, you ensure clean, safe, and attractive flooring throughout the hospital to support infection control and a healing environment. Responsibilities include routine and deep cleaning of hard floors and carpets, operating auto-scrubbers and buffers, stripping and waxing floors, and responding to spill and safety hazards promptly. You’ll work closely with the environmental services team in a mission-driven, patient-centered culture that values teamwork, reliability, and respect for both patients and staff. Perform routine and deep cleaning of hard floors and carpets in patient rooms, halls, and common areas Operate floor care equipment such as auto-scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, and carpet extractors safely Strip, wax, and refinish floors according to hospital standards and scheduled maintenance plans Respond promptly to spills and floor hazards to reduce risk of slips, trips, and falls Follow infection control, isolation, and safety protocols in all cleaning activities Store, mix, and use cleaning chemicals according to label instructions and safety guidelines Inspect and report floor damage, equipment issues, and supply needs to supervisors Collaborate with environmental services and nursing staff to prioritize high-traffic and critical areas Maintain accurate logs of completed tasks and special projects Support a patient-centered, respectful environment aligned with Encompass Health’s mission and values Floor stripping and waxing Carpet cleaning and extraction Operation of auto-scrubbers and buffers Use of cleaning chemicals and disinfectants Infection control procedures Hazardous materials handling Equipment inspection and basic maintenance Time management Safe lifting and material handling Basic recordkeeping and task documentation Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k OSHA safety awareness training preferred Infection control/healthcare housekeeping training preferred Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) a plus5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
