Encompass Health seeks a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a day-shift role in our inpatient rehabilitation hospital. In this position, you will deliver hands-on therapy under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, helping patients recover function after stroke, brain or spinal cord injury, and complex orthopedic or medical conditions. Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, documenting progress, educating patients and families, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, and maintaining a safe, patient-centered environment aligned with our mission-driven, team-oriented culture. Provide skilled physical therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist Assist in developing and carrying out individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, and functional independence Monitor, document, and report patient progress, responses, and concerns to the PT and interdisciplinary team Educate patients and families on exercises, safety techniques, and use of adaptive equipment Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate comprehensive rehabilitation care Ensure treatments follow regulatory, safety, and infection-control standards Properly set up and maintain therapy equipment and treatment areas Support discharge planning by contributing functional status information and home exercise recommendations Physical therapy interventions Therapeutic exercise techniques Neuromuscular re-education Gait and balance training Functional mobility training Patient and family education Rehabilitation documentation in EMR Safe patient handling and transfers Use of assistive and adaptive equipment Infection control and safety compliance Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active state Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license Graduation from an accredited PTA program Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Previous inpatient rehabilitation or acute care clinical experience preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
