Encompass Health seeks a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to support patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, and complex orthopedic conditions. Working in a collaborative, mission-driven rehabilitation hospital, you will deliver evidence-based interventions under the direction of a Physical Therapist, assist with mobility and therapeutic exercises, and educate patients and families to promote independence and safety. You’ll document progress, participate in interdisciplinary care planning, and benefit from strong clinical resources, mentoring, and clear growth opportunities. Provide direct patient care under supervision of a Physical Therapist, following individualized treatment plans Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance, and functional mobility activities Monitor and document patient progress, vital responses, and report changes to the supervising therapist Educate patients and families on home exercises, safety, and strategies to support rehabilitation goals Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and therapy team members to coordinate interdisciplinary care Maintain treatment areas and equipment in a clean, safe, and compliant manner Accurately complete documentation in the electronic medical record within required time frames Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and ongoing clinical training and education Therapeutic exercise implementation Gait and balance training Neurologic rehabilitation techniques Orthopedic rehabilitation protocols Patient and family education Electronic medical record documentation Vital sign monitoring during therapy Safe patient handling and transfer techniques Interdisciplinary care coordination Inpatient rehabilitation workflows Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current Texas Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in good standing Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification Experience in inpatient rehabilitation or post-acute care preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
