Encompass Health seeks a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to support inpatient rehabilitation patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, orthopedic conditions, and other complex illnesses. Working under the direction of a Physical Therapist, you will deliver evidence-based treatments, assist with therapeutic exercises and mobility training, track and document progress, and educate patients and families on home programs and safety. You’ll collaborate daily with an interdisciplinary team in a mission-driven, patient-centered environment that values clinical excellence, compassion, and professional growth. Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, following established treatment plans Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional mobility activities focused on regaining independence Observe, measure, and document patient progress, reporting changes in status to the supervising Physical Therapist and care team Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety strategies, and use of assistive devices Collaborate with an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to coordinate individualized care plans and meet clinical goals Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record Ensure safe use and upkeep of therapy equipment and treatment areas according to facility protocols Support a patient-centered environment by demonstrating empathy, clear communication, and professional conduct Physical therapy interventions Therapeutic exercise implementation Gait and balance training Neuromuscular re-education Functional mobility training Rehabilitation documentation (EMR) Patient and family education Safety and transfer techniques Interdisciplinary team collaboration Knowledge of post-acute/inpatient rehab protocols Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current Texas Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
