Encompass Health is seeking a Healthcare Floor Technician to help maintain a clean, safe, and healing environment in our inpatient rehabilitation hospital. In this role, you’ll perform specialized floor care, including sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, and buffing in patient rooms, therapy gyms, and common areas. You’ll follow strict infection control and safety protocols, handle equipment and chemicals correctly, and respond to cleaning needs promptly. Working closely with nursing, therapy, and support teams, you’ll support patient comfort, safety, and dignity while contributing to our mission-driven, patient-centered care. Perform daily sweeping, mopping, and floor care in patient rooms, halls, and common areas Strip, wax, burnish, and refinish hard floors according to schedule and standards Operate and maintain floor machines, auto-scrubbers, and related equipment safely Follow infection control and isolation protocols to minimize risk of cross-contamination Handle cleaning chemicals and solutions according to safety data sheets and policies Collect and dispose of trash and soiled materials in compliance with hospital procedures Respond to spill cleanups and urgent cleaning requests to support patient and staff safety Inspect floors and report maintenance or safety issues promptly Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and environmental services teams to prioritize work Document work completed and follow department policies and quality standards Floor care (stripping, waxing, buffing) Use of auto-scrubbers and floor machines Infection control procedures Chemical handling and dilution Biohazard and waste handling Equipment cleaning and maintenance Basic OSHA safety compliance Time management Reading and following work orders Basic written documentation Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Basic infection control training Bloodborne pathogens training OSHA safety training CPR certification preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
