Encompass Health seeks an EVS Floor Technician to maintain safe, clean, and attractive flooring throughout our inpatient rehabilitation hospital. You will perform routine and deep cleaning of hard floors and carpets, including sweeping, mopping, buffing, stripping, waxing, and spot removal using commercial equipment. Following strict infection control and safety protocols, you’ll help protect patients, visitors, and staff in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Working closely with the EVS and clinical teams, you’ll prioritize assigned areas, respond to special cleaning requests, and support a healing-focused, mission-driven care setting with opportunities for growth. Clean and maintain all hospital floors, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and buffing Perform floor stripping, waxing, burnishing, and refinishing using commercial equipment Clean and spot-treat carpets and rugs in patient care and public areas Follow infection control, safety, and bloodborne pathogen protocols at all times Handle cleaning chemicals safely and maintain proper dilution and labeling Inspect assigned areas, report maintenance or safety issues promptly Respond to special cleaning requests, spills, and urgent situations quickly Operate and maintain floor care equipment, reporting needed repairs Work collaboratively with EVS and clinical staff to support patient care needs Complete assigned daily schedules and documentation accurately and on time Floor care equipment operation (buffers, auto-scrubbers, burnishers) Hard surface floor stripping, waxing, and refinishing Carpet cleaning and spot removal Infection control and hospital cleaning protocols Chemical handling and dilution control Bloodborne pathogen and biohazard procedures Safety and OSHA standards compliance Trash and hazardous waste handling Basic maintenance and equipment troubleshooting Time management and task prioritization Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k OSHA safety training Basic infection control training Bloodborne pathogen training Floor care/maintenance certification preferred Previous hospital or healthcare cleaning experience preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
