Primavolt Energy Infrastructure Services designs, delivers, and operates behind-the-meter and utility-scale power infrastructure — gas turbine generation, battery energy storage (BESS), and solar PV — for hyperscale data centers and large-scale energy users demanding firm, dispatchable power across the U.S.
SUMMARY
The VP of Business Development is Primavolt's senior commercial leader, responsible for go-to-market strategy, pipeline development, and revenue growth across all behind-the-meter power, gas turbine, BESS, and solar PV programs. This leader owns the commercial function end-to-end — from market identification and client origination through proposal development, contract negotiation, and award — and directly oversees business development managers and other commercial leadership.
The role sits at the intersection of commercial strategy and technical credibility: translating Primavolt's capabilities into differentiated market positioning, shaping key client and OEM relationships, and driving deal flow in response to accelerating power demands from AI-driven data center infrastructure, IPPs, and utilities. Reports to the President & CEO and serves as a core member of the senior executive leadership team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and manage a qualified pipeline of new business opportunities in the 50–500 MW behind-the-meter and utility-scale power segment;
- Develop and execute account strategies for target data center developers, IPPs, hyperscalers, and other large energy buyers;
- Lead commercial negotiations and structure deal terms in partnership with Executive Leadership and Engineering;
- Partner with Engineering to translate client requirements into compelling, technically sound proposals;
- Represent Primavolt at industry conferences, client meetings, and other external forums to build brand visibility and market credibility;
- Track market trends in power infrastructure, interconnection, and data center demand to inform go-to-market strategy;
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with OEMs, financing partners, and other ecosystem players that influence deal flow;
- Report on pipeline, win rates, and market intelligence to the President & CEO and executive leadership;
- Collaborate with Marketing on positioning, content, and campaigns that support pipeline growth;
- Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, finance, or a related field; MBA preferred;
- Minimum of 10 years of business development, sales, or commercial leadership experience in power infrastructure, energy, or a related industry;
- Demonstrated track record closing complex, long-cycle deals with large enterprise or infrastructure clients;
- Existing network of relationships with data center developers, IPPs, or hyperscalers strongly preferred;
- Working knowledge of gas turbine, BESS, and/or solar PV project economics;
- Strong commercial negotiation and deal-structuring skills;
- Exceptional executive communication and presentation skills;
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
