High Country Line Construction seeks an Estimator II to develop detailed cost estimates and competitive bids for transmission, distribution, and substation projects. You will analyze drawings, specifications, and field data to produce accurate takeoffs, solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing, and build complete proposals for utility and energy clients. Working closely with project managers and field leaders, you’ll validate means and methods, assess risk, and support budget handoff after award. This role blends office-based estimating with occasional site visits, contributing directly to safe, reliable power infrastructure. Prepare detailed cost estimates for transmission, distribution, and substation projects Review drawings, specs, and field data to develop accurate quantities and takeoffs Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes Develop complete bid packages and proposals for utility clients Collaborate with operations, project management, and field teams to validate means and methods Analyze project risks, contingencies, and pricing strategies Support post-award handoff to project teams and assist with budget set-up Maintain historical cost data and improve estimating tools and templates Electrical utility estimating Transmission line construction Distribution line construction Substation construction estimating Cost analysis Blueprint and plan reading Bid preparation and tendering Estimating software (e.g., HeavyBid, B2W) Excel and data analysis Risk assessment Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) preferred Utility or power-line construction experience Valid driver’s license5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
