City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in core subjects Mentor and build positive relationships with students Support teachers with classroom activities and student engagement Help plan and lead after-school programs and enrichment activities Monitor and track student progress and attendance Collaborate with school staff and City Year teammates on student support plans Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe school climate Participate in City Year training, coaching, and leadership development sessions Engage with families and community partners as needed Model professionalism, service, and respect for diversity Tutoring and academic support (reading, writing, math) Classroom support and student engagement Youth mentoring and relationship-building Basic data tracking and documentation Communication (written and verbal) Collaboration and teamwork in diverse groups Time management and reliability Conflict resolution and de-escalation basics Cultural competence and inclusivity Basic technology skills (email, spreadsheets, virtual meeting tools) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Eligible to serve in AmeriCorps (meet citizenship and background check requirements)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
