City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class and after-school academic support in partner public schools Build positive relationships and mentor students to support social-emotional growth Track and report student progress using established tools and data systems Collaborate with school staff and City Year teammates to plan interventions Lead or assist with school-wide events and community service projects Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Model positive behavior and uphold a safe, inclusive learning environment Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding student progress and challenges Student support strategies Classroom management support Tutoring in English/Language Arts Tutoring in Math Data tracking and progress monitoring Mentoring and youth development Cultural competence Team collaboration Community outreach and service projects Basic computer and Google/Microsoft Suite skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (including citizenship or legal permanent resident status) Ability to pass required background checks Some roles may prefer prior experience working with youth, tutoring, or mentoring5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
