City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide daily in-class and small-group academic support in partner schools Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to improve engagement and attendance Support classroom management and create a safe, inclusive learning environment Use student data to track progress and tailor interventions Collaborate with teachers and school staff to address student needs Lead or assist with after-school programs and enrichment activities Communicate with families and community partners as needed Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and team meetings Model City Year values of service, equity, and respect Contribute to a positive, collaborative AmeriCorps team culture Student mentoring Tutoring in math and ELA Classroom support Behavior management Data tracking and reporting Lesson implementation support Family and community engagement Team collaboration Time management Basic computer literacy (G Suite/MS Office) Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (including citizenship or permanent resident status and background check) Experience working or volunteering with youth preferred Bilingual skills a plus5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
