Elementary Academic Coach
Position: Elementary Academic Coach
Location: As per job posting
Supervisor: Elementary Director
Length of Employment: 210 days flex schedule
Salary: As per Mason County pay schedule
Qualifications:
1. LETRS trained or currently enrolled at the time of application
2. Master's degree preferred
3. Coaching experience preferred
4. Minimum of 5 successful years of K-5 teaching experience required
5. Fully certified K-6 Elementary Teacher at the time of application
6. Ability to attend mandatory position training July 20-22, 2026 in Charleston
7. Experience facilitation student-centered coaching cycles
8. Experience with school-level data collection and accountability for grant reporting
9. Experience in supporting adult learners
Responsibilities
1. Provide support and assistance to all classroom teachers in the full and skillful implementation of district's adopted reading/language arts and math programs.
2. Conduct demonstration lessons to ensure that all teachers have been trained to an advanced level of delivery and are using the instructional materials as designed.
3. Assist with implementation, planning, development and practice of small group instruction in all classrooms.
4. Provide support for a multi-tiered intervention and enrichment system for Reading and Math.
5. Provide instruction on successful technology integration that supports student learning.
6. Provide direct instruction to students in grades K - 6 in the form of interventions, enrichment activities and/or model lessons.
7. Provide on-site staff development to ensure that teachers are knowledgeable about program components and understand the instructional design of how the program meets the standards.
8. Assist teachers in building an interactive classroom environment focused on the content and learning strategies embedded in the program.
9. Assist teachers and administrators with using formative assessments.
10. Serve as a resource in identifying appropriate instructional strategies and interventions in ELA/Math to improve student achievement for all students.
11. Assist teachers in curriculum maps that align with instruction.
12. Lead and assist with Professional Learning Communities (PLC) meetings in the analysis and utilization of assessment data to improve student achievement.
13. Assist grade level teams in setting goals for improved instruction.
14. Meet regularly with teachers and administrators to review skill assessment data and to assess the outcomes of goals established by grade level teams.
15. Prepare forms, records, and reports as directed.
16. Attend meetings and trainings as directed.
17. Perform all other duties and services assigned by the Elementary Director (relevant to the successful implementation of the District ELA and Math programs and supplemental reading and math intervention programs).
