Facilities Engineer

Location: Oxon Hill, MD

Compensation: $30.00–$35.00/hr + Benefits

Support Building Operations and Long-Term System Reliability

An established commercial mechanical services organization is seeking a Facilities Engineer to support building operations, preventative maintenance efforts, and ongoing equipment performance.

This role focuses on maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting commercial building systems while ensuring reliable day-to-day operation and strong customer service. The ideal candidate brings a well-rounded maintenance background and enjoys working across a variety of building systems and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on building systems

• Maintain HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical equipment

• Support lighting, generators, and primary switchgear systems

• Perform equipment rounds and routine system inspections

• Monitor building performance and maintain maintenance records

• Troubleshoot pumps, valves, piping systems, filters, VFDs, and humidifiers

• Support hot water systems, refrigeration equipment, and related infrastructure

• Develop productive working relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams

Qualifications:

• 2+ years experience in a Building Engineer or Facilities Engineer role

• Commercial building maintenance experience preferred

• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude

• Experience supporting HVAC and building systems

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Comfortable working with computers

• Strong organizational skills

• High School diploma or GED

• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
