The Accounting/Payroll Clerk supports daily accounting and payroll operations with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and timely processing. This role focuses on payroll execution, assists with accounts payable/receivable, maintains financial records, and supports general ledger and reporting activities. The position requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work in a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll Duties- Process weekly payroll on a consistent schedule.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records (wages, deductions, benefits, tax information).
- Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions accurately.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Prepare, review, and maintain payroll reports.
- Address employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Coordinate onboarding/offboarding payroll-related tasks.
- Support HR with administrative duties as assigned.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
- Enter and reconcile financial transactions in accounting systems.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial and vendor records.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Support internal and external audit processes and documentation requests.
- Assist with expense reporting and credit card reconciliations.
- Perform other accounting administrative duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in payroll and/or accounting support.
- Experience with payroll systems (ADP preferred).
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and basic accounting principles.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify discrepancies.
